Does Motel Rocks run small?
On fitted styles, yes. Motel's own size guide says it plainly: on tighter and fitted styles the brand "can come up a little smaller than other brands," and it advises sizing up if you are between measurements. Denim is the exception and runs differently. Here is how each category fits on our rail at Miss Behavin' in Santa Barbara.

Do Motel Rocks jeans run true to size?
Most of the Motel denim we sell at Miss Behavin' in Santa Barbara runs true to size, and a few styles do not. For denim, Motel's instruction is the one to follow: measure your natural waist and order that size, whatever the rise. Every pair on our rail is a 32 inseam, so waist and fit are the only choices you make.
Should you size up in the Parallel?
Shopper opinion online says yes. Across the wider Motel customer base, sizing up in the Parallel is the common advice, and it comes from a real mechanism: the Parallel is cut from rigid 100 percent cotton with no stretch, so it has nothing to give once it is fastened. Motel's jeans guide takes a different line, telling you to order your natural waist size regardless of rise. Its general size guide does advise sizing up when you are between measurements on fitted styles, so the two are not in conflict, they cover different things. For denim we follow the jeans guide. If you want room in a Parallel, the honest way to get it is to accept that the fit is snug by design, not to guess a size above your measurement.
How do you measure for Motel Rocks jeans?
Two measurements, both taken on yourself rather than off a chart. Measure around your natural waist and order that number. For length, Motel asks you to measure your inside leg to the floor, because every jean the brand makes is drafted to finish there. Motel publishes no rise measurement in inches, so there is nothing to convert. Since Motel has no US stores, nobody gets to try these on first, which is why the tape matters more here than with a brand you can walk into. Motel's own fit guide covers the rest.
Will a 32 inseam work on you?
Motel makes its jeans in 30, 32 and 34 inch legs and expects you to choose a length. We stock one. Every pair of Motel denim we carry is a 32 inseam, so the choice the brand assumes you are making does not exist on our rail. Taller shoppers get the length Motel drafted, hitting at the top of the shoe. If you are shorter, a platform, boot or chunky sneaker lifts the hem clear of the ground and the jean works as intended. If you want the puddle, where the fabric stacks and drags over the shoe, a 32 gives it to you without trying. In flat shoes at shorter heights, plan on hemming.
How do the Roomy and Parallel fits compare?
One customer settled this better than we could. She took both into the fitting room in the same waist size, could barely do up the Parallel, and the Roomy pair slid straight off her hips. Same number on the tag, two completely different jeans. Worth knowing that Roomy Extra Wide is our product title. Motel's own style list runs Low Rise Roomy and Low Slung Seamed Roomy, so do not go looking for Extra Wide on the brand's guide.
What sizes are in stock right now?
The Roomy Extra Wide is the fastest selling denim style we carry. After the last restock, W26 through W30 went in under 48 hours across the Roomy Extra Wide, the Roomy Low Rise and the Low Rise Parallel. What sits on the rail now is uneven by style rather than a clean size band, so check the size options on the product page itself before you commit. Is the Tennessee Low Rise a Motel Rocks jean?
