Shorts
Shorts here means denim first. Cuffed cut offs and worn in washes, plus sequin pairs for going out and easy everyday shorts you can pull on without thinking. From Free People and our own Miss Behavin' Label, with new washes landing through the season.
What kind of shorts do you carry?
Denim is the biggest part of this page by some distance. Cuffed cut offs, straight hems, light washes and worn in mid blues, mostly cut short. Around that sits a smaller group: sequin shorts that exist for one kind of night, and plain everyday pairs that go under a tee and get worn until the weather turns. It is a summer led buy, so the mix shifts as the season does.
How do you style denim shorts?
The trick with denim shorts is contrast. A worn in cut off with something structured on top, a corset or a fitted knit, reads better than denim with more denim. Boots take them into a country concert. Sneakers keep them daytime. Sandals and an oversized shirt is the beach version. If you are pairing shorts with a bikini top, size the top up rather than the shorts down. Sequin shorts want a plain top and very little else.
Shorts or a skort?
Shorts if you want shorts to read as shorts. A skort if you want the line of a mini skirt with shorts underneath. They cover the same occasions and the choice is mostly about how you want the outfit to look from the front. Denim exists in both, so you can have the same wash either way.
Sizing
Sizes vary by label, so check the options on each product page. Denim in particular runs differently between brands. If you are between sizes, message us and we will look at the piece on the rack and tell you what we see.
